Thanks to smooth movement, real time animation and instantaneous navigation, with MeteoEarth you can take on the role of the weatherman as you navigate the 3D globe to watch weather events unfold. Wind, temperature, precipitation etc. can all be overlaid onto the globe to create a fully customised weather map.

Here is a detailed overview of all MeteoEarth layers, including their additional settings.

TemperatureThe temperature map has a higher resolution compared to the other layers so that it includes geographic details and better visualises the temperature range between mountains and valleys.. This layer can be toggled to show either an overview of the temperature across the world, or to only show temperature over land areas (default setting).

PrecipitationThis layer shows the cumulative precipitation which is falling over areas of the world. You can see not only the precipitation amount but also the type: rain (blue), sleet (yellow) or snow (white).

Cloud CoverYou can choose to view the cloud cover at different altitudes (high, middle or low) and with lightnings. Per default all cloud types and lightning mode are enabled. Take a closer look and you’ll see the lightning striking.

WindThe wind streams map can be toggled to show either the speed (default setting), or the temperature of the predicted wind flow. You can also check the wind conditions at any altitude right up to the Jetstream, using the simple slider function (only displayed with activated Premium).

Tropical CyclonesTrack tropical storms as they churn across the ocean. View details of the wind, gust and speed of the tropical cyclone at one glance, and view its projected path by choosing one of the displayed storms or tropical depressions.

PressureTurn on the pressure layer to see the atmospheric pressure represented by isobars.
