As of version 2.0 of WeatherPro, additional premium data are available for many European countries on a subscription basis. It is finally possible to receive hourly forecast data, as well as a forecast for the next 14 days. But this product’s major highlight are the new radar pictures which distinguish between different types of precipitation: rain, snow, sleet and hail – simply invaluable during the Winter months. And for the first time, our radar function is also equipped with a 2-hour forecast.

There follows an overview of the features of the premium data feeds.

 
The major new features are:

• Hourly forecasts instead of three-hourly forecasts.
• 14-day forecast as opposed to 7 days
• Choice of 10-40 satellite and radar pictures as opposed to 10.
• Colour coded radar according to precipitation type
• Radar forecast

From now on we will expand with every new release on both the standard functionality and data provision, as well as that of the premium version.

We received many requests for this – now we are in a position to offer hourly forecasts for European locations. This is especially valuable within a short-term perspective, as it permits the user a good overview of sudden or drastic changes in weather.

Not only have we expanded the frequency of our forecast data, we have also extended the forecast period to 14 days for European locations. This is an ideal tool for planning holidays, for example.

 
MeteoGroup is proud to present an exclusive world first within WeatherPro 2.0: precipitation-type radar. For the first time it is now possible to distinguish between rain (blue), snow (red), sleet (grey) or freezing rain (purple) on our European radar pictures. The deeper the colour, the stronger the precipitation.
Precipitation-type radar is available for the following countries: UK and Irland, France, Germany, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands and Scandinavia.
We also expect to be able to include Switzerland in the near future.
At the current time, precipitation-type radar is not available for the USA.

Also in response to numerous user requests, Version 2.0 of WeatherPro also features our popular rain forecast which is even available in the form of precipitation-type radar for the countries for which that is available.

A further user request was for us to increase the number of radar and satellite pictures viewable within WeatherPro. The premium version of this function is equipped to show up to 40 pictures (as opposed to 10 as regards the standard version). Since this function requires a lot of bandwidth and memory it can only be provided within the premium area.
