2015-12-07: MeteoEarth for iPad 2.1 update available
After introducing an iPad design to the former iPhone only version of our 3D weather app, we’ll now only focus on the development and improvement of the universal version of MeteoEarth. Of course MeteoEarth for iPad will continue to work, but the app will not receive any further updates and will be removed from the App Store. We recommend downloading the new universal MeteoEarth app for free.

2015-09-14: MeteoEarth for iPad 2.0.1 update available

2015-04-13: MeteoEarth for iPad 2.0 update available

- Share screenshots which now show an accurate copy of the current screen including details such as date, time and magnifying glass etc.
- There have also been various optimisations and bugfixes – including a bug in the screenshot sharing function.
2013-12-17: MeteoEarth for iPad 1.4 update available
Version 1.4 introduces tonnes of new features and optimisations:
- Continue to use MeteoEarth even when you have no signal with our new offline mode (data must be downloaded first).
- The temperature map is now more detailed and includes stunning geographic visuals such as mountains and valleys.
- In partnership with webcams.travel, we’ve integrated webcams from all over the world so now you can actually see the local weather!
- The graphics depicting snow have been improved (select the precipitation layer).
- Finally, you can show off your MeteoEarth screenshots on Twitter and Facebook with our new sharing function.
2013-10-17: MeteoEarth for iPad 1.3 update available

To coincide with the launch of iOS 7, MeteoGroup has released the latest version of MeteoEarth. In line with the new guidelines from Apple, MeteoEarth has been optimised to make the most of the brand new iOS functionality. With an iOS 7 optimised interface, including the stunning parallax effect, users will be thrilled with this design – available the moment you update to iOS 7!
2013-08-22: MeteoEarth for iPad 1.2 update available
New weather elements:
- Precipitation: Previously on MeteoEarth you could see the precipitation but you weren’t able to tell what type of precipitation it was – now you can see the difference between rain and snow!
- Lightning: With this new feature (found in the cloud cover layer) you can track thunderstorms.
- Storms: See a complete overview of storms currently taking place all around the world with information including category, type and wind speed. Click on any storm to zoom in and track its progress (Premium).
New feature:
Climate data: With this brand new feature, you can switch from the normal forecast mode to the climate data mode. See a global overview of climatic conditions or check out the climate for any location around the world including temperature, water temperature and rainfall throughout the year. The perfect tool when planning to travel!
New functionality:
You can now view precise information for pinpointed locations on the map. Simply click on the magnifying glass and then drag the icon around to see forecast rainfall, percentage of cloud cover, temperature etc.
2013-02-14: MeteoEarth for iPad 1.1 update available
- You can now connect directly to WeatherPro, the most comprehensive weather app on the market, for a detailed forecast. At the touch of a button, WeatherPro will automatically open with a forecast for the location you were just looking at in MeteoEarth.
- We’ve added pressure to the weather graphics – overlay isobars to track high and low pressure systems.
- Multiple elements can be viewed at once - simply tap on the icons to add the elements you wish to see.
- We’ve enhanced the cloud cover and wind layers, now adding the option to select the altitude – right up to the jetstream (Premium)!
- Following feedback, we’ve optimised various aspects including improved zoom level, night mode and better visualisation for small amounts of precipitation. You also told us that you wanted the option to rename recorded scenes and to have a full screen mode – these are now available! Finally, we’ve fixed various bugs including problems with cloud animation and problems experienced when opening the app.
