WeatherPro Premium

fold faq Premium suddenly has stopped ! Why ?

Most probably you have changed your iPhone a few days/weeks before and the new iPhone is not registered in our database.

Please contact our support, we can help you re-activating your subscription.

fold faq I have more than one device. Will premium work on all devices automatically ?

Our subscription is registered on the first device. With WeatherPro version 2.1 or later we will introduce a registration for multi-device support. Until then we need to register additional devices manually.

Please send us your iTunes receipt and the UDID of all your iPhones or iPod Touchs you want to run WeatherPro. You get the UDID by connecting your iPhone/iPod Touch with iTunes. Go to the overview page of the iPhone/iPod Touch and click on serial number. The UDID is shown. Copy with <command>-c the UDID and send it to us. Or you can try free apps on your iPhone like "UDID Sender" to help you with sending the UDID.

fold faq Why are the new data only available within a premium product for which an additional subscription fee is payable?

As Europe’s top weather app, WeatherPro user numbers have greatly increased in recent months. That is something we are naturally pleased about and proud of, but this success has largely been based on quality of service. In order to maintain this quality level, we have to expand our current infrastructure. That creates extra costs which are not covered by the one-off charges for WeatherPro. Furthermore, the premium data feeds increase the volume of data transferred immeasurably, which also greatly increases our costs. Premium weather data are also more expensive as regards the licence fees they generate, so that we are obliged to charge an additional fee for their use. We would appreciate your understanding here and we are sure that the added value provided by our premium service more than outweighs our annual or quarterly fee.

Those users not requiring this data are free to continue using the standard data feed. Future Weather-Pro updates will ensure that the basic app is also developed in order to maintain WeatherPro’s position as the best and most comprehensive weather app available on the market.

fold faq Will only the premium version be developed further in the future?

No. Future Weather-Pro updates will ensure that the basic app is also developed in order to maintain WeatherPro’s position as the best and most comprehensive weather app available on the market: free of charge!

fold faq What plans are there for future features ?

We are already working on Version 2.1! The standard feed will be augmented with some minor improvements based largely on user feedback. An improved swipe function for quick navigation between favourites is just one feature which we are giving top priority.

The premium service is due to receive its first update in the first quarter of 2010, including additional data. More details on this will be publicised nearer the time. Why not log onto our Twitter feed in order to keep abreast of our latest developments? http://www.twitter.com/weatherpro

And finally, we have a long list of desirable developments thanks to our valuable user feedback. Every release incorporates one or two of these requests. Keep up the good work!

fold faq "L" appears behind the time in location title

The "L" indicates that the location has a different time zone and the local time is shown. You can toggle the "L" by clicking on the name. Try it with Cupertino.

fold faq Date problem - app crashes

Unfortunately, there was a bug before WeatherPro version 1.3 preventing the correct display of the weather information when international date settings were set to am/pm instead of 24h. In some cases the app even crashed. This has been solved with the update 1.3. We apologise for the inconvenience.

If WeatherPro continues to crash, especially after updating the app, it might help to reboot the iPhone to avoid memory fragmentation, please see also this link from Apple - http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1295

fold faq WeatherPro crashes after updating

If WeatherPro continues to crash, especially after updating the app, it might help to reboot the iPhone to avoid memory fragmentation, please see also this link from Apple - http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1295

Still no success ? Then it is best to re-install WeatherPro on your iPhone or iPod Touch by deleting it first, then synchronise with iTunes again (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1977) or download it again from the app store (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519) - Apple knows what applications you have downloaded, so you do not have to pay twice.

fold faq How can I save favourites?

Just search for your favorite location and click on the little star on the right side of the search results. The given city is added automatically to the end of your favorites list. If you don't see an animation adding the entry to the end of the
favorites list - you may have missed the button and can try again by going back to the search tab.

fold faq A splash screen - why a splash screen ?

During the splash screen is shown WeatherPro initialises its own database and prepares certain functionalities. Unfortunately, putting out the splash screen won't speed up this process, so please forgive us showing a splash screen.

fold faq How can I make questions, problems or suggestions for improvements to the service known to MeteoGroup?

WeatherPro has a support email address support@weatherpro.eu through which all received questions are answered free of charge.

fold faq How does WeatherPro differ from the meteo24.com iPhone weather portal?

WeatherPro has GPS functionality and an optimised, and therefore very fast connection to the required data. The iPhone weather portal www.meteo24.com is financed by advertising and provides written weather reports and a complete weather show. In contrast to WeatherPro, all data must however be uploaded from scratch each time the user connects, since saving the data locally is only possible to a limited extent. WeatherPro has a local database on the iphone itself in which all data used is saved. This saves bandwidth and increases access speed. WeatherPro and www.meteo24.com will be knitted more closely together in the future.

fold faq I like WeatherPro, but is any additional functionality on the horizon?

You won’t be disappointed – we have exciting plans for WeatherPro.. Under Releases you will find details of the latest releases and their respective update information. Our plan is to bring out a new release every 2-3 months.

fold faq Can I use WeatherPro on my iPod when I’m offline?

The local database permits the saving of WeatherPro data whilst you are online. The more locations you have saved as favourites, the more data will be saved locally. If WeatherPro is used offline, you will receive a warning that no data connection is available. The data which had been stored during your previous online connection will therefore be shown.

fold faq Can I use WeatherPro on holiday abroad?

No problem: just ensure that data roaming is enabled within the iPhone settings. Beware however that roaming costs are not included within standard contracts, so additional roaming costs will be entailed. Since current roaming costs are (in our opinion) relatively high, we recommend connecting via WiFi. iPod Touch is also especially suited to this.

fold faq Which forecasts are available within WeatherPro?

We don’t simply provide forecasted values out of a computer model. MeteoGroup as Europe’s largest independent weather company owns its own forecast system which has been developed in-house to serve, amongst others, large energy conglomerates, insurance companies and winter roads customers. As such point data (forecasts for a specific location or city) are revised several times every day. Forecast accuracy is of the utmost importance for all of our products.

fold faq Why are radar pictures only available for certain countries?

European radar images are (in contrast to the USA) not freely available: they are associated with hefty licence fees. We constantly strive however to provide more and more radar data – perhaps we will succeed one day in providing a complete precipitation composite for Europe, as has been possible in the USA for decades!

fold faq I’m searching for a place which WeatherPro does not seem to have in its database.

Our database is updated on a continuous basis. At the moment we have over 2.000,000 searchable locations. If however the place you are looking for is not available, simply send an email to us on: support@weatherpro.de, including where possible the name of the corresponding administrative region and we’ll insert your desired location into the service.

fold faq I am also a user of the web portals meteo24.com and wetter24.de. Certain data within these services is chargeable. Why is that?

Data purchased globally by MeteoGroup is in certain instances very expensive and providing some data free of charge is prohibited by the licence agreements we have to adhere to. In future we plan to offer registered wetter24.de subscribers additional functionality which will also be made available to WeatherPro users.

fold faq Why is there no written weather report such as those available on meteo24.com/wetter24.de?

The written weather reports are currently available within the national web portals meteo24.com/wetter24.de only. An improved integration is currently under construction.
